EVIL IN THE OCEAN
Writing Logs, Excuse Typos

ㆍEvil in the Ocean writing log #1: SanctumDeep beneath the ocean’s surface, hidden well away from any civilization, lies an old worn-down facility called Sanctum. This place was built quite a while ago before technology advanced significantly, and it was originally created to be a housing and testing center for some of the wealthier doctors of the time. The architecture was created to be luxurious and water-sealed, but now is crumbling and even flooded in some parts. Once a place for great minds to get away and have a place to invent or relax and enjoy the indulgent things of the facility, now is an empty husk.
Some wonder what happened to the place to get it to be this way, maybe it was bankrupt and left behind? Or perhaps the people were driven out by something and it was lost to time. These are both partially true.
The fall of Sanctum was caused by a dangerous sort of drive for perfection and curiosity that could never be fulfilled. Rumors say dark and evil influence had caused madness amongst the few remaining residents until they were wiped away one by one, and say the place is haunted or filled with some sort of toxin. The facility is left deep in the ocean, and hard to find nowadays.

Evil In the Ocean writing log #2: The Pier Platoon
The Pier Platoon is a small navy-like army stationed on the coast, tasked with zone-coverage, investigations, and the safety of the general place. They don't function like lifeguards, but more like the army. Atlas the manta ray and Captain Hoobert the snail are both characters associated with the Pier Platoon, both serving key roles. The HQ is just off the mainland coast on a manmade island, housing soldiers, ships, helicopters, and other things. The platoon prefers to hire sea-creature-type Mobians for sea explorations, but land dwellers may join too.

Captain Hoobert the Snail: Hoobert, one of the captains of the Pier Platoon, is a kind hearted mobian snail. He is mostly tan and brown, and wears a green army-like uniform. Nowadays, he does more paperwork than fieldwork, but often checks up on everyone in the platoon. He is very considerate and thoughtful, and he's quite skilled on the banjo. He's able to hide all the way in his shell, surprisingly enough. He was once married to Oktober back in the day, but is now divorced. Hoobert is currently training Atlas the manta ray to be the next captain.

Atlas the Manta Ray: Atlas is currently training to be a captain in the Pier Platoon. He is a blue and white manta ray mobian, wears a green army-like uniform, and has a few scars on him. His personality is very stoic, and he's work focused. He won't stop until a job is done and he's a bit loud while training recruits. He does have a soft side to him, but it's a bit hard to get to. He is able to reach surprising speed in the water even with boots on and is able to soar in the air when he jumps out of the water.

Evil in the Ocean writing log #3: Reefville
Just below the water on the coast of an unnamed city lies a town named Reefville where plenty of sea-Mobians stay. The town is fairly retro in its design, leaning a bit more into the 50s/60s neighborhood aesthetic but with coral and sea motifs. Often times, the markets there get their stock from the coastal land city. Kerri the Anglerfish and Rosie both live there. Reefville is about a mile away from the Pier Platoon Headquarters.

Kerri the Anglerfish: Kerri is a red anglerfish mobian girl who wears a striped shirt, skirt, and a backpack. She loves adventure, is outgoing, and is Atlas' neice. She loves mapping things out and solving mysteries on her own, but sometimes is clumsy and messes things up. Her mother Rosie, Atlas' sister, is a manta ray and often brings Kerri over to the Pier Platoon's dock HQ for visiting. Kerri is good friends with Hoobert and some Pier Platoon recruits, but suspects something bigger is going on than usual...

Evil in the Ocean writing log #3: Dr. Oktober & Labrat & mutants
Deep within the dark medical chambers of Sanctum, the undersea facility, Oktober the octopus and Labrat the rat-cat reside. Oktober created Labrat to be a child for her to take care of, as she felt very alone down there. She constructed him of some cat, some rat, but he turned out alright. Labrat is Oktober's very first successful "frankenstein's monster" so to speak. Oktober is very maternal and protective towards him. Labrat at his core is a child, and doesn't show signs of growing. He's playful and nice, but sometimes has issues with breaking things or playing too rough with other smaller mutants that he lives around. Before Labrat, Oktober made many failed attempts at new creatures and they now forever roam the facility or float around it in the dark water.

Oktober the Octopus: Oktober is a purple flapjack octopus mobian who wears an old tattered vintage surgeon's gown. Her personality is quite tired and cold, but with a strong maternal instinct. Oktober is very reclusive, only swimming up from the facility to the city on the shore to buy resources that she takes back down into the depths. She was once a plastic surgeon but now slaves away over creating new sorts of life, never seeming to be satisfied- that is until she made Labrat. She believes some external supernatural force must be driving her to do the things she does, but that's highly unlikely. She is also very secretive about her identity, preferring stay hidden instead of dealing with the heroes of the world.

Labrat the Rat-Cat: Labrat is a fankensteined mix between a black cat and a green rat mobian, showing equal traits of both. He wears a polka-dotted hospital gown, bandages, and a sock. Aside from Labrat's origins being mostly unknown, he appears to have been made from pieces from a recent large cruise ship incident. He's been powered by an artificial life force so nobody really knows how he thinks or feels, but he displays the traits of a sentient being. He's very playful and curious, enjoys toys, chasing little mutants around, and climbing into the roof panels. Being powered by an artificial lifeforce, Labrat will go into a temporary coma if he doesn't receive his shots weekly.
